Jakarta Provincial Government eliminates car free day on Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, Sunday (5/25).

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo said the car free day elimination is related with the visit of Republic of China Prime Minister to Indonesia, on May 24-26, 2025.

Syafrin explained that the elimination of car free day is based on national interests. It is also regulated in Article 5 paragraph 1 of the Governor's Regulation number 12 of 2016 which states that the implementation of car free day can be canceled if a special activity or event is carried out at the same time.
Based on this consideration, he added, his side conducted evaluation and assessment. As the result, car free day is suspended temporarily on Sunday (5/25).
